At Frida's After School Programs, our Dungeons & Dragons club has become a huge hit! Kids aren’t just playing a game—they’re diving into epic adventures and discovering new sides of themselves.
D&D helps them build essential skills like teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. By working together to overcome challenges, they learn the value of communication and collaboration.
This club boosts their confidence, encouraging them to step into different roles and think outside the box. And best of all? They’re having fun while learning!
At Frida, we’re not just running a club; we’re inspiring imagination and friendships that last.
In Frida’s After School Programs, crochet classes offer so much more than just making dolls or small crafts. Crochet opens a world of personal growth, connection, and introspection for our kids.
Through crochet, children learn patience, focus, and resilience. The process of creating something with their own hands helps them build confidence, while also improving their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination – valuable for academic growth.
On an emotional level, crochet provides a calming, meditative experience. It gives kids a chance to connect with themselves, to reflect, and find peace in the rhythm of the stitches. This kind of mindful creativity fosters a sense of accomplishment and inner calm.
At Frida, we’re not just teaching crochet; we’re nurturing hearts, minds, and spirits.

Frida Community Organization.
We began in Pilsen, a lively and culturally rich neighborhood, which served as our launch point. Over time, we have expanded our reach to serve communities throughout Chicago and its suburbs.
This, along with financial backing from various levels of government, foundations, schools, and private entities, has enabled us to offer top-notch services to families across Illinois.
Frida’s Digital Art classes, offered through our After School Programs across Chicago and its suburbs, are leaving a lasting mark on school communities—like at Jefferson Middle School in Villa Park.
When children unlock their creativity, they enter a world of endless possibilities, where they learn to explore and embrace new perspectives. Digital art helps them develop confidence, express themselves, and discover their potential in ways they never imagined.
At Frida, we believe that art is more than a skill; it’s a path to growth, curiosity, and self-expression.
Thank you to our community for continuing to trust us with your children’s growth and creativity. We’re honored to be a part of their journey.
Our goal is to foster engaged, informed, and empowered school communities. We support academic and personal growth through year-round programs and services:
