WHO ARE WE?
Established in August 2002, FCO is a 501(c)(3) community nonprofit organization focused on empowering students, parents, and families across Chicago.
We began in Pilsen, a lively and culturally rich neighborhood that served as the foundation for our community-driven work. Since then, we’ve grown into an organization serving communities throughout Chicago and its suburbs.
Our most significant partnership has been with Chicago Public Schools.
With support from government agencies, foundations, schools, and private entities, we continue to provide high-quality programs that uplift families across Illinois.
As a nonprofit organization, we remain committed to expanding access and opportunity through community-centered support.

OUR PROGRAMS & SERVICES
EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
Our goal is to foster engaged, informed, and empowered school communities. As a community nonprofit, we support academic and personal growth through year-round programs and services designed to uplift families through education and community participation.
Our educational offerings include:
- After-School Enrichment – Focused on the arts, fitness, sciences, and academic support.
- Technology Programs – Designed for parents and community members to build digital confidence.
- Parent Workshops – Covering student academic support, personal development, cultural arts, and leadership.
- Family Excursions – Exploring educational and recreational sites across Chicago.
SUPPORT SERVICES
For over two decades, our organization has provided trusted support services to families navigating complex processes and seeking guidance on a range of documentation legal matters.
We offer high-quality, affordable assistance designed to meet each family’s unique needs with professionalism and care.
Services include:

- Naturalization and status guidance
- Referrals and application support
- Ongoing information and navigation help
ADULT WORKSHOPS IN EDUCATION
At Frida’s Education Department, we offer year-round workshops for adults to promote personal growth, lifelong learning, and overall well-being across our communities.
SOCIOEMOTIONAL LEARNING THROUGH SELF-CARE
These workshops help parents develop self-care practices that strengthen socioemotional skills and encourage positive relationships at home and in school.

FAMILY DISCIPLINE
